Where does Birdie – KALDI gin come from?
It is to the Yemeni shepherd, Kaldi, to whom we owe the discovery of coffee, that our gin honors. Associated with ginger and lemongrass, the Moka coffee from Ethiopia MéoMéo (famous roaster from Lille), give this gin a singular greediness.
How is this gin made?
This gin is made with six different botanicals: Juniper berry, coriander berry, ginger, lemongrass, Voatsiperifery pepper and Ethiopian Sidamo de Méo Mocha coffee. All these botanicals are macerated 24 hours in a neutral alcohol of wheat of the Hauts de France then distilled with these last ones to draw a maximum of flavours from it.
That’s why it’s so popular!
This limited edition of 1,500 btles has been decorated by the Lille-based artist The Free Heads who brings to the traditional Birdie mapmonde his atypical universe.
By tasting this gin you will :
It is first of all the scent of chamomile reinforced by coffee that emanates from this Kaldi gin
Completed by more exotic notes of lemongrass. On the attack we find the freshness of ginger prolonged by the woody aromas of Voatsiperifery pepper and the sweetness of coffee.
